Open-air concert on the Sparkassen-Bühne in Hofwiesenpark Gera
Ben Zucker is one of the defining voices of German pop-Schlager. With over 1.5 million records sold, multiple gold and platinum awards, and a stage presence that oscillates between rock and Schlager, he has become a fixture on the German-language live scene since his breakthrough with "Na und?!" in 2017. The "Kämpferherz" Tour 2026 is his biggest open-air tour to date.
The Hofwiesenpark in Gera is one of the city's largest park areas and the central venue for open-air concerts and folk festivals (Volksfeste). The Sparkassen-Bühne was specifically designed for such concerts: space for several thousand visitors, good sightlines, professional sound technology. The park itself offers ample space for catering, sanitary facilities, and standing areas. For Ben Zucker and his band, this is the ideal setting for an open-air concert with emotional intensity.
The current album "Kämpferherz" (2025) is Zucker's most musically ambitious work: more rock-oriented guitar work, greater depth in the lyrics, less Schlager cliché. The 2026 open-air setlist will combine the new songs with the major hits from previous albums — "Mut zur Katastrophe", "Wer sagt das", "Na und?!", "Sonne und Mond", "Ein Hoch auf uns". This is Zucker's strength: songs that can be sung along to in the stadium without getting lost in the Schlager mainstream.
With around 93,000 inhabitants, Gera is the third-largest city in Thuringia, located in the state of Thuringia, on the White Elster river between Erfurt and Leipzig. The city was home to the painter Otto Dix (1891–1969) and today houses the Otto Dix Collection at the Museum of Applied Arts. The Hofwiesenpark, with its approximately 19 hectares, is one of the city's most important open-air venues, alongside the Altenburg-Gera Theater and the Kulturarena. Gera is easily accessible via the A4 (Erfurt–Dresden) motorway.
On September 12, 2026, Ben Zucker will perform in Hofwiesenpark Gera as part of his "Kämpferherz — Die Open Airs 2026" tour. The Sparkassen-Bühne will be the stage for a pop-Schlager concert with emotional intensity — songs from the current album "Kämpferherz" will meet established hits like "Na und?!", "Mut zur Katastrophe", and "Ein Hoch auf uns".
