A Fairy Tale with Tradition – Polle Amateur Theatre Group
Since 1986, the Polle amateur theatre group (Laienspielgruppe Polle e.V.) has shaped the summer program at the Oberburg. In addition to the ongoing Cinderella play on the fourth Sundays, the ensemble develops season productions that are presented in a concentrated block of performances. In 2026, the choice falls on Beauty and the Beast – a story that thrives on the tension between appearance and essence, and which is particularly effective on the castle's open-air stage.
Four Performance Dates in June
The performances are spread over two weekends in June. The school performance on Friday, June 5th at 10:00 AM is aimed at classes from the Weserbergland region. The Sunday performances on June 7th and 14th at 4:00 PM are classic family formats. The evening performance on June 13th at 6:00 PM appeals to adult theatregoers and families with older children. Further performances throughout the summer are possible and will be announced by the amateur theatre group in due course.
