Open-Air Summer in Bayreuth

The Bayreuth Lake Stage Festival is the flagship event of the MOTION event agency and the central open-air date in the Wagner city's summer. The lake stage is specially erected every year in the Wilhelminenaue – a large park area on the edge of the Hofgarten and the Festspielhaus promenade. The setting combines the atmosphere of an open-air stage with the comfort of professional concert infrastructure: around 11,000 seats, very good acoustics, catering, and a security concept.

Festival Week Instead of Individual Concerts

What distinguishes the Lake Stage Festival from comparable open-air series is its clear festival structure: a continuous week, a different headliner every evening, a different musical world every day. The audience can buy a day ticket for "their" favorite evening or follow the week as a festival series with different styles.

Bayreuth, an independent city with just under 75,000 inhabitants in Upper Franconia, is world-famous for its Wagner Festival on the Green Hill. The Lake Stage Festival complements this canon with an accessible, popular cultural offering: open-air concerts with beer, a meadow area, a family zone, without a dress code, and without 10-year waiting lists for tickets. The festival thus significantly expands Bayreuth's summer profile – without competing with the Festival.

MOTION Event Agency

The organizer is the MOTION event agency from Bayreuth, which has been organizing concerts and festivals in the region for years. MOTION is responsible for the complete logistics – stage construction, ticketing, catering – and also for the curatorial line: the mix of German pop stars, comedy, Austropop, and electronic acts is an expression of a conscious programming strategy to appeal to as many target groups as possible throughout the festival week.
