About BASF Concerts 26/27

The 2026/27 season of BASF Kulturfabrik begins in autumn 2026 under the motto “On Wings of Song". It promises around 60 concerts ranging from classical, jazz, and pop in the BASF Feierabendhaus and Gesellschaftshaus. Highlights of the September to December 2026 season include nine concerts from the Beethoven_200 series, a world premiere with percussionist Leonie Klein, a performance by Fado singer Mariza, a concert by Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds, a song recital with Melody Gardot, and the Bach Christmas Oratorio on December 11, 2026, to conclude the year. Subscription sales start on May 13, 2026, and individual tickets go on sale on May 20, 2026.

“On Wings of Song”: a season motto with a programme

With the motto “On Wings of Song”, BASF Kulturfabrik is dedicating the 2026/27 season to the human voice. Song recitals, vocal music, choral works, and song-like instrumental programmes run like a common thread through the programme. The highlight at the end of the season is Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio on December 11, 2026 – one of the most important sacred vocal music events of the season in the region.

Beethoven_200 and World Premiere with Leonie Klein

A special concert series of the season is Beethoven_200, with which BASF Kulturfabrik proactively honours the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death: nine concerts throughout the season explore Beethoven's work and influence. Also noteworthy is the world premiere of a composition featuring the acclaimed percussionist Leonie Klein, known internationally for her virtuosic expansion of the percussion repertoire.

Pop, Fado, Songwriter: an open season

In addition to the classical focus, the season offers concerts with world-renowned singers: Mariza (Fado, Portugal), Melody Gardot (Jazz/Pop, USA), Ólafur Arnalds (Neoclassical, Iceland), Max Giesinger, Joris, the Official Blues Brothers Revue, Daniel Ottensamer (Clarinet, four concerts), Battle Vivaldi (Baroque meets Breakdance), as well as Gringo Mayer on December 17 and a Christmas Sing-Along on December 18.
