Autostadt Winterzauber

A winter world between the Volkswagen plant and the Mittellandkanal

Autostadt sits right next to the Volkswagen main plant and, since its opening in 2000, has been a striking anchor in the Wolfsburg cityscape. With its pavilions of the Group's brands, the ZeitHaus, the spacious lagoons and the KonzernForum, it is a popular destination all year round. In winter, the site shows its playful side: ice and snow surfaces, lights, market stalls and a distinct after-work atmosphere turn the park into an alpine winter landscape in the middle of Lower Saxony.

Ice rink and snow playground

The heart of the event is the roughly 4,000 square metres of ice, used as a skating rink, ice stock sport (Eisstockschiessen) area and ice disco. Families will find a pure snow world on the roughly 1,100-square-metre snow playground for children up to twelve, complete with small hills, sliding options and supervised hands-on activities. The daily ice disco from 4:30 pm invites visitors to linger with DJ sets, colourful lighting and an after-work atmosphere.

Hüttenzauber, stalls and culinary delights

More than 20 stalls in the market area provide a varied offering: roasted almonds, crêpes, mulled wine, regional spirits, cheese, sausage and sweet specialities as well as gift ideas from regional crafts. The Hüttenzauber après-ski area adds a sociable touch with wooden chalets, seating groups and alpine music.

Workshops and special events

Autostadt complements the Winterzauber with a wide range of workshops for children, teenagers and parent-child duos: creative crafting, mobility topics, natural sciences. Sporting highlights such as the on-ice exhibition training of the DEL team Grizzlys Wolfsburg ensure packed stands in December.

Admission and getting there

Access to the Autostadt grounds is via the regular Autostadt ticket; some programme items are included in the admission price, others incur a fee. Autostadt is easily reached on foot from Wolfsburg main station via the Stadtbrücke.
