About Autostadt Winterzauber
The Autostadt Winterzauber transforms the sprawling grounds of Autostadt Wolfsburg into a shimmering landscape of ice, snow and culinary delights every winter. From late November 2026 to early January 2027, families, winter sports fans and city strollers can look forward to a 4,000-square-metre ice rink, an 1,100-square-metre snow playground for children up to twelve, a daily ice disco starting at 4:30 pm and more than 20 market stalls.
Conviviality is at the heart of it all: the Hüttenzauber après-ski area, a varied workshop programme for children, teenagers and parent-child duos, and sporting highlights such as the on-ice exhibition training of the Grizzlys Wolfsburg in December.

A winter world between the Volkswagen plant and the Mittellandkanal
Autostadt sits right next to the Volkswagen main plant and, since its opening in 2000, has been a striking anchor in the Wolfsburg cityscape. With its pavilions of the Group's brands, the ZeitHaus, the spacious lagoons and the KonzernForum, it is a popular destination all year round. In winter, the site shows its playful side: ice and snow surfaces, lights, market stalls and a distinct after-work atmosphere turn the park into an alpine winter landscape in the middle of Lower Saxony.
Ice rink and snow playground
The heart of the event is the roughly 4,000 square metres of ice, used as a skating rink, ice stock sport (Eisstockschiessen) area and ice disco. Families will find a pure snow world on the roughly 1,100-square-metre snow playground for children up to twelve, complete with small hills, sliding options and supervised hands-on activities. The daily ice disco from 4:30 pm invites visitors to linger with DJ sets, colourful lighting and an after-work atmosphere.
Hüttenzauber, stalls and culinary delights
More than 20 stalls in the market area provide a varied offering: roasted almonds, crêpes, mulled wine, regional spirits, cheese, sausage and sweet specialities as well as gift ideas from regional crafts. The Hüttenzauber après-ski area adds a sociable touch with wooden chalets, seating groups and alpine music.
Workshops and special events
Autostadt complements the Winterzauber with a wide range of workshops for children, teenagers and parent-child duos: creative crafting, mobility topics, natural sciences. Sporting highlights such as the on-ice exhibition training of the DEL team Grizzlys Wolfsburg ensure packed stands in December.
Admission and getting there
Access to the Autostadt grounds is via the regular Autostadt ticket; some programme items are included in the admission price, others incur a fee. Autostadt is easily reached on foot from Wolfsburg main station via the Stadtbrücke.

The Autostadt Winterzauber 2026/27 transforms the grounds into a sprawling landscape of ice, snow and culinary delights. The ice rink, snow playground, ice disco and Hüttenzauber area form the setting for a winter family and after-work programme.
The exact 2026/27 programme will be published by Autostadt in autumn. The structure follows the tried-and-tested cornerstones of previous years: 4,000 sqm ice rink, 1,100 sqm snow playground, daily ice disco from 4:30 pm, Hüttenzauber après-ski, more than 20 market stalls and workshops for all age groups.
Activity areas
For the Winterzauber, Autostadt brings together three activity areas: a large ice rink, a fenced snow playground for children up to twelve, and the Hüttenzauber area with market stalls and seating groups. The daily ice disco from 4:30 pm creates atmospheric lighting effects and an after-work mood.
Sport and show
In December, the exhibition training of the Grizzlys Wolfsburg brings DEL atmosphere onto the ice. Workshops for children, teenagers and parent-child duos round off the programme.

Programme structure 2026/27
The exact 2026/27 programme will be published by Autostadt in autumn. The structure follows the tried-and-tested cornerstones of previous years:
- Opening weekend: Commissioning of the ice rink and snow playground, stage programme in the Hüttenzauber.
- Daily from 4:30 pm: Ice disco with DJ sets and light show.
- Weekends: Workshops for children, teenagers and parent-child duos plus walking acts.
- December: Exhibition training of the Grizzlys Wolfsburg on the ice, date to be communicated separately.
- Christmas and New Year: Extended market hours, family afternoons and after-work sessions.
- Early January 2027: Closing weekend with a major ice disco.
