KG Altenkirchen – Altweiber-Party in the Festival Tent

The Altweiber-Party of KG Altenkirchen is one of the largest carnival events in the Altenkirchen district. The venue is the festival tent on Weyerdamm, which is specially erected for the carnival days and offers space for several hundred guests.

Kick-off of the Hot Phase

With the Altweiber-Party, KG Altenkirchen kicks off the extended carnival weekend. While other carnival strongholds in the Rhineland are still reserved about the session motto, it is omnipresent in Altenkirchen: in 2026, the motto is “ALL IN – aufs Leben” and stands for an unusually energetic session orientation.

Festival Tent on Weyerdamm

The Weyerdamm in Altenkirchen serves as both the festival grounds and the festival tent center during the carnival days. With a large stage, dance floor, several bars, and catering, the tent offers the infrastructure for major events such as the Altweiber-Party, the children's carnival, and other program items.

Music Program

The music program is the focus: carnival bands, party singers, and DJs alternate on stage, ensuring a continuous party atmosphere. Classics of Cologne carnival, Schlager, and sing-along hits shape the set, which also includes performances by dance troupes and the welcome of the KG's carnival royalty.

Embedded in a Festival Week

The Altweiber-Party is embedded in a whole series of KG events: children's carnival on Saturday, Rosenmontag parade on Monday, and smaller sessions throughout the entire carnival season. Thus, it is not a single event but part of a well-thought-out program structure.
