With its 10th edition in 2026, the Adventsmarkt Kirchen (Sieg) has established itself as a firm tradition in the event calendar of the Sieg town. Over more than a decade, the market has built up a loyal visitor base and has become a fixed date in the region's Advent calendar.

Forecourt of St. Nikolaus Catholic Kindergarten

A special feature of the Adventsmarkt is the choice of location: the forecourt of the St. Nikolaus Catholic Kindergarten in Kirchen. This choice is both symbolic and practical. Symbolic, because the kindergarten is dedicated to Saint Nicholas – the central saint of the Advent season, traditionally celebrated on December 6th. Practical, because the forecourt offers enough space for the wooden stalls and catering stands, while at the same time creating an intimate, family atmosphere.

1st Advent as the date

In 2026, the market will take place on Saturday, December 3rd – the 1st Advent Saturday. This early scheduling makes the market one of the first Adventsmärkte in the region and thus the kick-off to the Christmas season.

Wooden stalls and arts and crafts

Local clubs, hobby artists, and small vendors gather at the Adventsmarkt with their wooden stalls. The offerings include arts and crafts such as pottery and knitwear, Advent decorations, candles, handmade toys, small gift items, and Christmas decorations.
