DTM's only street circuit with motorsport at Dutzendteich
The International ADAC Norisring Speedweekend is a true motorsport institution. The Norisring in Nuremberg is Germany's only permanent street circuit and the only street circuit on the DTM calendar. The 2.162 km long track runs along the Dutzendteich, past the former Nazi party rally grounds, past the historic Steintribüne. Due to the dense urban backdrop and tight corners, the circuit is affectionately called "Franken's Monaco".
The main event is the DTM weekend with two races. The GT3 class cars (Audi R8, BMW M4, Ferrari 296, Lamborghini Huracán, Mercedes-AMG GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 R) deliver spectacular duels on the street circuit, often with hard wheel-to-wheel contact. The DTM is accompanied by three attractive support series: ADAC GT4 Germany, Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, and BMW M2 Cup. Between races, there are demonstration laps, driver autograph sessions, and a show program.
The Norisring regularly writes DTM history. In 2025, South African Jordan Pepper driving a Lamborghini won his very first DTM race on Saturday, while on Sunday, Austrian Thomas Preining driving a Porsche triumphed for the third time in Nuremberg – after a thrilling duel against Ferrari driver Jack Aitken. Such stories make the Speedweekend a firm fixture on the German motorsport calendar.
Unlike pure racetrack events, the Norisring weekend is a true Volksfest (public festival) with a festival atmosphere: in 2025, 112,000 spectators flocked to the grandstands and trackside. From the residential area to the festival grounds to the concert stage, everything is gathered in an urban setting. Bratwurst, gingerbread, Franconian beer, and souvenirs are just as much a part of the experience as the V8 soundscape of the GT3 cars.
A race was first held at the Norisring as early as 1947. Since then, the circuit has developed into one of Europe's most famous race tracks. The event is organized by Motor Klub Nürnberg im ADAC together with ADAC Nordbayern – active club work ensures that the event takes place every year despite economic fluctuations.
From July 3 to 5, 2026, the streets at Dutzendteich will once again transform into the famous Norisring street circuit. The ADAC Norisring Speedweekend is the fourth round of the 2026 DTM calendar and one of the season's highlights.
