Hamburg's Young Film on the Big Screen

abgedreht! is Hamburg's festival format for young filmmakers. In the traditional Zeise Kinos in Hamburg-Altona – Friedensallee 7–9, in the middle of the former Zeise propeller factory – short and feature films by young directors are shown for two days annually.

Films, Discussions, Awards

The program is divided into film blocks of various genres and styles, supplemented by discussions with the directors on site. The films primarily come from Hamburg and Northern Germany, with invited contributions from German-speaking regions. Awards in several categories frame the festival.

Zeise Kinos, Altona District

For decades, Zeise Kinos has been Hamburg's most traditional arthouse cinema address in Altona. The former industrial architecture, which now houses two auditoriums and a foyer with a café, is ideal for a festival of this compact size.

Supporting Young Filmmakers

abgedreht! is part of Hamburg's film funding culture and connects students from HFBK, Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, Filmakademie, and independent filmmakers. The awards open doors in the Hamburg and Northern German film scene.
