Three Anniversaries, One Festival

The anniversary weekend in Steinsdorf, a district of Altmannstein in the Lower Bavarian district of Eichstätt, unites several occasions in 2026:

  • 55 Years Schambachtaler Blaskapelle – the regional brass band was founded in 1971
  • 75 Years Schützengesellschaft Tell Steinsdorf – the local shooting club celebrates its three-quarters of a century
  • MON Mittelbayern District Music Festival – the district music festival of the Mittelbayern music district will take place in Steinsdorf in 2026

District Music Festival with Tradition

The Bezirksmusikfest (district music festival) is a central element of Bavarian brass band life: brass bands from several districts come together, perform jointly, march through the town, and conclude the festival with a grand Festgottesdienst (festive service) and mass choir. For a small village like Steinsdorf, hosting the district music festival is a great honor.

Festival Grounds on Hohenwartstraße

The entire festival will take place at the Steinsdorf Community Hall (Hohenwartstraße 4a). The festival tent, stage, and shooting range will become the central stage for the market town of Altmannstein for three days. Free admission – the organizers are counting on high visitor numbers from the Schambachtal and surrounding districts.

Altmannstein in the Eichstätt District

Altmannstein is located in the southern Altmühltal Nature Park, in the Eichstätt district of Upper Bavaria. The market town, with its numerous districts, preserves the Lower Bavarian brass band and shooting traditions – a prerequisite for a festival of this magnitude.
