36th Advent Concert Kulturkreis Daun

The Advent Concert of Kulturkreis Daun e.V. has been an integral part of cultural life in the Vulkaneifel for over 35 years. The 36th edition will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM in St. Nicholas Church Daun. The concert series combines the quiet, contemplative mood of the Advent season with classical chamber music, choral singing, or sacred music at a high artistic level.

Tradition Since the 1990s

Kulturkreis Daun e.V. has been organizing the Advent Concert since the early 1990s. Each year, different ensembles and soloists take center stage: string quartets, chamber orchestras, choirs, vocal ensembles, wind ensembles, or solo concerts with organ, trumpet, and soprano. The repertoire ranges from Baroque (Bach, Handel, Corelli) and Classical (Mozart, Haydn) to Romantic and contemporary Advent works.

St. Nicholas Church Daun

The Catholic St. Nicholas Church in the center of Daun is the venue. The single-nave church offers approximately 400 seats and boasts excellent acoustics for chamber music and vocal works. The simple, classic interior, decorated for Christmas during Advent, lends a special atmosphere to the concerts. Its central location in downtown Daun makes the church an easily accessible venue.

Program 2026

The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the fall of 2026. The structure will follow the proven framework of previous years: a renowned ensemble or a combination of soloists will interpret a program of approximately 90 minutes featuring Baroque, Classical, and Romantic Advent music. The 35th edition in 2025 emphasized sacred vocal music with a vocal ensemble.

Admission and Ticket Sales

Tickets for the Advent Concert are available in advance at the Daun Tourist Information office, the cultural office of the VG Daun, and at the box office. Ticket prices are typically between €15 and €22 (reduced for students and members of Kulturkreis Daun). The proceeds will help finance further cultural events organized by Kulturkreis Daun.

For decades, Kulturkreis Daun e.V. has been the most important promoter of classical artistic culture in the Vulkaneifel region. In addition to the Advent Concerts, the association organizes a year-round concert series, literary events, and theater evenings.
