200 Years of the Bodnegg Music Association — An Anniversary with History

In 2026, the Bodnegg Music Association celebrates its 200th anniversary — founded in 1826, the year King Wilhelm I of Württemberg reigned. Two centuries of brass music in a small Upper Swabian community — this is an extraordinary anniversary that resonates throughout the Ravensburg district and the entire Upper Swabian music scene. From June 11 to 14, 2026, the band is organizing a four-day anniversary festival.

Four Days with Numerous Guest Bands

Over the four festival days, numerous friendly bands and music groups will perform on the festival stage in the tent:

• Coronaranka — Party band with brass music roots, top act at several Bavarian festival tents
• Lapaloma Boys — Egerländer brass music with a modern touch
• Kapelle Josef Menzel — Classic march and polka music
• Die Zünftigen — Folk music from the Allgäu region
• Die 4 lustigen 5 — Humorous music band with a long tradition

In addition, the anniversary band itself, the Bodnegg Music Association, will perform in various ensembles, as will youth bands from the surrounding area. You will experience the full spectrum of Upper Swabian brass music — from Egerländer polka and march music to modern big band arrangements.

Pre-events starting Spring 2026

The anniversary begins months before the actual festival. A series of pre-events will accompany the year:

• April 5, 2026: Festive Easter concert by the music association in the Bodnegg church
• May 2, 2026: Official ceremony with honors and historical review
• May 14, 2026: Ascension Day procession with musical accompaniment

The Anniversary Parade on Sunday

The grand finale is the large anniversary parade on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 2 PM. Over 50 friendly clubs, traditional costume bands, and music groups from the Bodenseekreis, the Allgäu, and Vorarlberg will march through Bodnegg with festively decorated floats. Afterwards, a grand mass concert of all guest bands will take place in the festival tent — a sonic experience only to be had at such anniversary festivals.

Bodnegg — A Musical Community in the Hinterland of Lake Constance

Bodnegg, with just under 3,200 inhabitants, is located in the western Ravensburg district, about 10 km north of Lake Constance. The community is famous for its vibrant club culture — in addition to the music association, there are traditional costume groups, choirs, a shooting club, and a sports club, all closely intertwined with the village's festival calendar. The anniversary festival will position the community at the forefront of the South German brass music scene — a weekend when all of Upper Swabia looks to Bodnegg.
