SparkassenPark — The Biography
The SparkassenPark was opened in 2006 as an open-air concert venue. The area is part of the larger sports complex Am Hockeypark in Mönchengladbach-Hardt and is located directly next to the hockey stadium (home of the Gladbacher Hockey Club). The stage is designed for large open-air concerts with a capacity of several thousand visitors. The main sponsor is Sparkasse Krefeld.
Mönchengladbach — Sports and Industrial City on the Lower Rhine
Mönchengladbach (approx. 261,000 inhabitants) is an independent city on the western Lower Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia. The city is nationally known for Borussia Mönchengladbach (Bundesliga football), traditionally as a textile industry location, and increasingly today as a logistics and service center. Alongside the Hockey Stadium and Borussia Park, the SparkassenPark has established itself as the city's third sports/event highlight.
