Anniversary celebration with vehicle dedication of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Lengfurt in the market town of Triefenstein
The Volunteer Fire Brigade Lengfurt is celebrating its 155th anniversary in 2026. This makes it one of the oldest organized fire brigades in the Main-Spessart district: Founded in 1871 in the then independent village of Lengfurt am Main, it is now one of the four local brigades of the market town of Triefenstein in the Mainviereck region between Würzburg and Aschaffenburg.
The 2026 jubilee will also be marked by a vehicle dedication: In February 2026, the brigade received a new LF 20 KatS fire engine, which will be solemnly blessed and officially handed over to the active team during the festival. Such vehicle dedications have a long tradition in Franconian fire brigades, combining technical modernization with ecclesiastical and folk customs.
Lengfurt is located on the right bank of the Main river in the Franconian wine-growing region, not far from the Triefenstein monastery church. Since the Bavarian administrative reform, the village has belonged to the market town of Triefenstein and, with just under 2,000 inhabitants, is its largest district. The fire brigade here is not only a relief organization but also a central link in village and club life.
Typical for fire brigade anniversaries of this magnitude are a festive church service and vehicle dedication on Sunday, a festive evening with music on Saturday, greetings from political and church representatives, and a parade of neighboring brigades and local associations. The event will be accompanied by Franconian cuisine, draft beer, and convivial gatherings in the festival tent at the Lengfurt festival grounds.
The District Fire Brigade Association Main-Spessart e.V. lists the Lengfurt jubilee in its 2026 event schedule. Such festivals in the Bavarian Lower Main region are much more than mere club celebrations: They are meeting points for fire brigades, occasions for honoring long-serving members, a visible commitment to volunteer work – and for Lengfurt, a highlight in the 2026 event calendar.
From June 20 to 21, 2026, the Volunteer Fire Brigade Lengfurt will celebrate its 155th anniversary. The brigade is combining the celebration with the official vehicle dedication of the new LF 20 KatS fire engine, which has been in service since February 2026.
The Main-Spessart District Fire Brigade Association e.V. lists the jubilee as a fixed event in its 2026 schedule. The Volunteer Fire Brigade Lengfurt will announce the exact program details, including times and participating brigades, in advance.
Detailed program and times will be announced by the Volunteer Fire Brigade Lengfurt before the event. No further program items will be announced.
Lengfurt is located on the A 3 motorway (Marktheidenfeld exit), 25 km northwest of Würzburg. Train travelers should go to Karlstadt (Main) or Wertheim, and then continue by bus. Parking is available around the festival grounds in the Lengfurt town center.
Admission to the festival tent and parade is free; food and drinks are available for purchase. The Volunteer Fire Brigade Lengfurt will announce the detailed program and times on its website and social media channels.
