In 2026, the Oberbergkirchen Volunteer Fire Brigade looks back on 150 years of club history: founded in 1876, it has been one of the central pillars of village life in the municipality of Oberbergkirchen in the Mühldorf am Inn district (Upper Bavaria) for "Rescuing, Saving, Extinguishing, Protecting". The anniversary will be celebrated with a six-day festival week in the large marquee.
The festival week follows the proven choreography of Upper Bavarian fire brigade anniversaries: a beer tapping ceremony to open, several themed evenings with live bands, a district fire brigade day with friendly brigades from the Mühldorf district, the grand festival Sunday with a festive church service, a request for godparents, and a grand parade, and finally a convivial closing.
Oberbergkirchen is the seat of the Oberbergkirchen administrative community. The FF Oberbergkirchen belongs to the Mühldorf am Inn District Fire Brigade Association – the 2026 founding festival is part of a Bavarian anniversary season in which numerous brigades from the Mühldorf region are celebrating their 150th anniversaries.
In 2026, the festival week falls on the days around Ascension Day (May 14th) and the Pentecost weekend – convenient for high attendance in the marquee, for visiting brigades to arrive, and for those returning from abroad.

From May 13th to 18th, 2026, the Oberbergkirchen Volunteer Fire Brigade will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a six-day festival week. The large marquee in the town center is the focal point — beer tapping, themed evenings, district fire brigade day, festive church service, and parade follow one another.
The festival week conveniently falls in the week around Ascension Day (Thursday, May 14th, 2026): bridge days and a long weekend allow for arrivals from the entire Mühldorf am Inn district.
