In the Kautendorf district of the municipality of Döhlau, on the western edge of the Franconian Forest in the Hof district (Upper Franconia), the Kautendorf Volunteer Fire Brigade is celebrating its 150th founding anniversary in 2026. The brigade — founded in 1876 — is one of the three fire brigades in the municipality of Döhlau, alongside FFW Döhlau and Tauperlitz.
The focal point of club life and the venue for the festival is the Old Schoolhouse Kautendorf, which the FFW uses as its club house and which provides the setting for most of the club's festivals — from the Maypole raising in May to the wine festival in September, and the Greek festival and strawberry festival, which regularly enrich the event calendar of the municipality of Döhlau.
The anniversary festival on July 17th and 18th, 2026, is an official program item in the event calendar of the municipality of Döhlau. Two days of festivities, as usual in a close-knit club atmosphere and on the manageable scale of a brigade with around 100 active members — not a large event with a festival tent, but a well-kept anniversary in the club house and on the club grounds, with visiting fire brigades from the Hof district as guests.
Kautendorf is located about 10 km east of Hof. Since its founding in 1876, the brigade has contributed to fire protection, technical assistance, and the village's community life.
