125 Years of SSV Tarmstedt

The Sportschützenverein Tarmstedt was founded in 1901 and in 2026 looks back on 125 years of club history. Generations of Tarmstedt marksmen have sustained club life, achieved sporting excellence at the shooting range, and simultaneously preserved village traditions. The 125th anniversary is being celebrated with a special Schützenfest that honors the club's history while also looking towards the future.

Schützenplatz in Dicken Holz

The Schützenplatz in Dicken Holz, a forest area between Tarmstedt and Westertimke, has been the home of the SSV for decades. Its location in the tranquil forest landscape lends the festival a special atmosphere, distinctly different from urban or village Schützenfest grounds. The clubhouse, the shooting range, and the festival tent provide the setting for the anniversary.

Anniversary Shooting Competition

A special anniversary shooting competition is the core of the festival weekend. Active members of the SSV, guests from affiliated clubs, and former members compete for awards and trophies. The king's shooting competition additionally determines the club's new monarchs.

Parade and Reception

A parade of the Tarmstedt marksmen, marching bands, and affiliated clubs through Tarmstedt publicly honors the anniversary. An official reception with distinguished guests from politics, sports, and business, including speeches and honors for long-standing members, completes the anniversary program.

Festival Evening with Live Music and Café

On the festival evening, live music in the festival tent sets the atmosphere. Dancing, beer service, and a buffet bring club members and guests together. A café service in the afternoon with coffee and cake invites for a cozy get-together. There is a separate program for children with games and small competitions.
