The motorcycle meet "1000 Vikings & Sea" plays on the Nordic Viking myth – a cultural reference that fits the East Frisian coast, the Wadden Sea, and the region's maritime tradition. On August 22, 2026, around 1,000 motorcycles will gather in Harlesiel/Carolinensiel for a day of biker culture, a scenic ride, and camaraderie.

Meet, Ride, and Awards

The format combines three elements:

• Stationary Meet – Motorcycles are displayed, bikers mingle, vendors present biker accessories and fashion.
• Joint Ride – An impressive convoy through the East Frisian countryside, impressing both the landscape and its residents.
• Awards – Prizes are given in several categories.

Award Categories

A charming aspect of the Viking Meet is the annual awards:

• Furthest Journey: Bikers who have traveled the longest distance to the event.
• Oldest Motorcycle: Vintage motorcycles receive special recognition.
• Largest Group: Biker communities that arrive together.
• Oldest Participant: An honor for the oldest active rider.

East Frisia as the Ride Route

The joint ride winds through the East Frisian landscape – marshes, drainage canals (Sielhäfen), coastal roads, and small villages with historic architecture. The convoy is not only an experience for the participants but also a remarkable spectacle for the residents of the towns along the route. The specific route will be published by the organizer in advance.
