Overview

The premiere of the Two Castles Festival took place on the weekend of August 2nd–3rd, 2025, and is considered a great success. On the cultural stage at the Lower Castle, a renewal of marriage vows was performed, accompanied by the Mirow Fire Brigade Band. Organizer Peter Domke (PHÖNIX) assessed the festival as a "real new beginning" for Mirow's festival culture and a prelude to the 800th anniversary celebration in 2027.

The premiere of the 2025 Two Castles Festival brought the two historic castle sites of Mirow together for the first time in a joint day program. On the cultural stage at the Lower Castle, a renewal of marriage vows was performed, accompanied by the Mirow Fire Brigade Band. Afterwards, the couple took a boat trip across Lake Mirow with the Blau-Weiße Flotte.

Mayor Henry Tesch and Peter Domke (PHÖNIX Event & Catering) drew an overwhelmingly positive conclusion. Tesch emphasized that the public's response was "encouraging, definitely to continue"; Domke called the festival "something rare" – a successful town festival in a historically impressive location. The last comparable Mirow town festival took place in 2017. Public meetings to prepare for the 800th anniversary celebration in 2027 were planned for November 2025.
