Regionally popular Palatinate Kerwe at the Fuchsbachhalle Zeiskam
The Zeiskam Kirwe is one of those Palatinate Kerwen that have long outgrown the category of a mere village festival. Four days of festivities, a large marquee (the Fuchsbachhalle), dedicated clubs, and a selection of bands that appeal to both young and old audiences have made the festival a regionally renowned event. Visitors travel from the entire Bellheim administrative district, as well as from Germersheim, Landau, and the Palatinate Wine Route.
The Fuchsbachhalle is the heart of the Zeiskam Kirwe. The large hall can accommodate several hundred guests, making the Kirwe largely independent of the weather. Outdoor beer stands, amusement rides, and additional tents complement the indoor area. The layout allows for dancing in the hall as well as socializing at the outdoor beer tents.
Despite its regional fame, the Zeiskam Kirwe adheres to the classic Palatinate tradition: tapping of the first keg to open, the Kerwerede (Kirwe speech), Kerwetanz (Kirwe dance), a morning pint on Sunday, and the Kerwe closing on Monday. The Palatinate identity is maintained even with a large festival turnout – not least due to the close collaboration with the Zeiskam clubs.
The sports club, fire department, music club, carnival association, church community, and the Zeiskam singing clubs provide the catering. Saumagen (stuffed pork stomach), Bratwurst (fried sausage), Leberknödel (liver dumplings), Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), Sauerkraut (sauerkraut), fries, and desserts complement the drinks, which include Palatinate wine, draft beer, and Schorle (wine mixed with sparkling water).
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the local community of Zeiskam and the clubs in the summer. The structure will follow the proven key points of previous years: opening on Friday evening, Kerwetanz on Saturday, Frühschoppen on Sunday, and the Kerwe closing on Monday.
