Overview

The 2025 crocus bloom in Zavelstein was similar to 2026 due to the weather: main bloom between early March and mid-March. The Teinachtal Tourist Information offered several guided hikes along the 3.8-kilometer KrokusWeg — through the nature reserve to the Zavelstein castle ruins. Several thousand visitors came to the wild crocus occurrence in 2025, which is one of Southern Germany's botanical rarities.

Proven Tradition

The guided hikes for the Zavelstein Crocus Bloom have been organized by the Teinachtal Tourist Information for years. In 2025, the main bloom occurred between early March and mid-March; several dates offered interested visitors the opportunity to experience the spectacle with expert guidance. As usual, the KrokusWeg was also freely accessible outside of the guided tours and was visited by thousands of hikers and photographers.

The positive feedback and the increased awareness of the botanical significance of this occurrence have contributed to the town of Bad Teinach-Zavelstein continuing to promote the crocus bloom as a central tourist attraction — and consistently protecting the nature reserve from trampling and picking damage.
