Overview

The WTCS Hamburg 2025 took place on July 12 and 13, 2025, with the usual race format: Elite races over Sprint distance, Mixed Relay (four-person team), and Open Races for amateur starters. The course was as usual: swim start in Jungfernstieg, bike through the harbour and Reeperbahn, run around the Binnenalster, finish on Rathausmarkt.

The 2025 edition confirmed the event's status as the world's largest triathlon and Hamburg's most important summer sporting event. Over 10,000 amateur athletes competed in the Open Races, while the international World Cup elite battled for points in the ongoing World Series.

The course configuration, with a swim-transition-run loop entirely within the city centre, attracted hundreds of thousands of spectators to the sidelines. In the Hamburg-Mitte district and the state of Hamburg, the WTCS is among the events that shape the cityscape for an entire weekend.
