Overview

The 2025 Wittenberg Christmas Market once again transformed Paul-Lincke-Platz into a sea of lights for five days. Mulled wine, roasted almonds, and gingerbread attracted families from the Prignitz and surrounding areas, while school and church choirs, brass bands, and folk music ensembles from the region performed on stage. On Saturday, Santa Claus traditionally visited, and Sunday was family day with an Advent reading. Free admission.

During Advent 2025, the Wittenberg Christmas Market once again joined the program of the most beautiful Advent destinations along the Elbe. Already on the opening afternoon, Wednesday, December 10th, Paul-Lincke-Platz glowed with warm light. The approximately two dozen wooden stalls were lovingly decorated, and the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds filled the Wittenberg town center.

On stage, school choirs from the Marie Curie High School, the brass choir of the city church, and accordion ensembles from the Wendland alternated performances in the evenings. On Saturday, families crowded to see Santa Claus — who, as expected, came with sweets and little stories. The evening concluded with a quiet Advent reading in the neighboring town church before the market closed its doors on December 14th amidst falling sleet.
