Overview

The Wiesenviertelfest 2025 transformed Markstraße into a colourful neighbourhood mile on August 23. Art, cuisine, music, and creative stalls characterised the day, while volunteer helpers ensured smooth organisation. The awareness team and accessible entrances once again confirmed the festival's progressive character. Donations via the Startnext campaign secured the financing of the non-commercial event.

In 2025, the Wiesenviertelfest continued its tradition as a grassroots, volunteer-run neighbourhood festival. Witten's creative scene presented itself with stalls, local bands played on stage, and food trucks provided the audience with regional and international cuisine.

The commitment to accessibility, the awareness concept, and community-oriented organisation make the festival an important example of participatory neighbourhood culture in the Ruhr area. The crowdfunding campaign via Startnext secured the financing — a sustainable model for non-commercial neighbourhood events.
