White Night Steinhuder Meer

White Attire by the Water

The White Night adopts a format known from European port cities and beach destinations: a shared evening, a shared color – white. This visual theme creates a special atmosphere and turns a normal summer evening into a small, convivial event.

On the North and South Shores

With its 29 square kilometers of water surface, Steinhuder Meer is the largest inland body of water in Northern Germany. Its north shore (Mardorf) and south shore (Steinhude) are characterized by a variety of gastronomic establishments – eel smokehouses, restaurants, cafés, bars, and beach bars. The White Night utilizes this diversity: small event islands are created simultaneously on both shores.

Program and Specials

Each participating establishment designs its own program. Common offerings include:

• Seasonal dishes and cocktails with a white visual theme
• Live music (acoustic, jazz, singer/songwriter)
• DJ sets in beach bars
• Small bites, tapas, finger food
• Special atmosphere through lighting and decoration

When and How?

The event runs on August 1, 2026, from 6 PM to 11 PM. Those planning a longer evening can start in the early evening on one shore, take a boat trip to the other shore, and conclude the evening there. Others can stay in one place.
