Horse Festival with Gala Show
The Westernpferd Festival is a three-day horse and riding festival with a grand gala show, held every summer in the Pullman City Western town in Lower Bavaria's Eging am See. Pullman City is a fully constructed Western town with saloons, hotels, a theater, a Wild West show arena, and year-round entertainment – a theme park that has established itself as a pilgrimage site for country and Western fans from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland since the 1990s.
Western Riding in Focus
The Westernpferd Festival is all about Quarter Horses, Paint Horses, and Appaloosas: typical disciplines such as Reining, Cutting, Trail, or Western Pleasure are demonstrated and tried out. Horse fans experience demonstrations by experienced trainers, liberty acts, and free dressage, as well as traditional cowboy disciplines.
Show, Tradition, Lifestyle
The riding program is rounded off by performances from the Pullman City Show Ensemble: Native American dances, stunt shows, historical reenactments, and country and Western music make the festival a mix of a riding tournament and a show event. Those who experience the entire Pullman City area with its saloons, shops, and Western hotels prefer to stay for the whole weekend.
In the Bavarian Forest
Eging am See is located in the district of Passau on the edge of the Bavarian Forest. Visitors to the festival can easily combine their stay with an excursion to Eginger See or a tour through the Bavarian Forest National Park.
