Overview

The first Werl Bierfest took place in spring 2025 on the market square and was organized by the Wirtschaftsring Werl e.V. together with GWS under the leadership of Lucas Risse. Breweries from the Sauerland, a stage program, and gastronomy attracted several thousand visitors to the city center – the positive response was the basis for the repeat in 2026.

Premiere 2025

In spring 2025, the first Werl Bierfest took place on the central market square. The Wirtschaftsring Werl e.V., together with the economic development agency GWS and initiator Lucas Risse, established a three-day format intended to expand Werl's event offerings.

The success of the inaugural event – described by the Soester Anzeiger as an event with significant visitor resonance – secured its repeat in 2026. The brewery selection focused on the Sauerland and the Westphalian region.
