In 2025, Wenningstedt-Braderup also celebrated its traditional village pond festival on the last Saturday of July. A family program in the afternoon, the traditional LIONS duck race at 6 PM, and an evening live program between the village pond and Denghoog. As always, admission was free. Organizers: Municipality of Wenningstedt-Braderup with Sölring Museen and Lions-Club Sylt.
The 45th edition followed the proven concept with clearly structured program blocks: afternoon for children and families, evening with live music and gastronomy. The LIONS duck race remained, as every year, the emotional highlight—hundreds of plastic ducks swam to victory under the eyes of the audience.
The festival is one of the oldest and most popular village festivals on the island of Sylt and is organized annually with great volunteer commitment.
