The 150th Wendische Fastnacht in 2025 marked the grand anniversary of the tradition in Neu Zauche. With 150 couples in full Wendish costume, the parade marched through the village, writing Spreewald customs history.
The anniversary edition in 2025 attracted numerous costumed couples from the entire Sorbian-Wendish speaking area to Neu Zauche. The festival is considered one of the most concentrated manifestations of Wendish identity in the Spreewald.
