Wine, Summer, and the Saar Riverbank

WeinZeit is the grand open-air wine festival in the heart of Saarbrücken. The venue is the promenade Am Staden, arguably the most beautiful stretch of river in the Saarland state capital: old plane trees, views of the Saar river, a touch of Riviera atmosphere. It is precisely here that the organizer sets up a small open-air lounge over several days, dedicated to wine, enjoyment, and summery conviviality.

What awaits you

Over 200 different wines are available: robust reds from the Saar and Mosel, crisp whites from the Palatinate, organic cuvées, sparkling wines, and international drops from France, Italy, Spain, and overseas. Staff at the stands will pour into official WeinZeit glasses, which you receive for a deposit and can take home. Instead of a traditional festival tent, you'll find an open beach club atmosphere with high tables, loungers, and fairy lights.

Culinary Delights and Music

Street food stalls are perfect for pairing with the wines: Flammkuchen, tapas, cheese platters, grilled meat skewers, and vegetarian specialties – all curated to complement the wines, not overpower them. From the late afternoon onwards, DJs spin tunes, transitioning from aperitif time to a relaxed evening of dancing under the open sky. The blend of enjoyment and party is WeinZeit's hallmark.

Two Dates a Year

WeinZeit will take place twice in 2026: on the first weekend of June and at the end of August. The earlier date focuses on the classic summer kickoff after the Ice Saints, while the late summer date extends the season until just before school starts. Both editions are held in the same area Am Staden and appeal to a mixed audience of connoisseurs aged 25 to 60.
