The 1st Wipperfürth Wine Festival celebrated its premiere in 2025 on the market square of the Hanseatic city. Weingut KDM from Bernkastel-Wehlen brought Mosel wines to the Bergisches Land — an unusual but successful combination that directly secured the subsequent 2026 edition.

The premiere of the Wipperfürth Wine Festival in 2025 showed that there is a demand for wine enjoyment in the Bergisches Land as well. Weingut & Brennerei KDM from Bernkastel-Wehlen presented Mosel wines, Spätburgunder, and brandies on the historic market square. The response was high — residents of Wipperfürth and visitors from the region showed interest in direct contact with the winemaker and in wines beyond the supermarket selection. The positive outcome directly led to the scheduling of the 2nd edition in 2026.
