Audiovisual biodiversity show with DJ Dominik Eulberg at Deutsches Eck as a prelude to Electronic Wine
Dominik Eulberg is a rare double talent: a trained biologist and an internationally sought-after DJ and producer of electronic music. In his projects, he bridges both worlds, creating performances where nature observation and club culture merge into an unusual unity. With "Wein on the Water – Prolog Biodiversity Show", the Koblenz Wine Festival 2026 brings his concept as a prologue to the Electronic Wine Open Air to Deutsches Eck.
The show combines classic DJ elements – danceable electronic beats, hypnotic loops, building dramaturgy – with sound recordings of local wildlife: birdsong, frogs, insect sounds, the rustling of forests. This is complemented by projected images of plants, butterflies, microscopic structures, and landscapes. Eulberg is considered a pioneer of this crossover format and performs worldwide at festivals, conferences, and museum evenings.
The venue is the Deutsches Eck in Koblenz – the historically and touristically central point at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, featuring the monumental equestrian statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I. Its open location and spectacular backdrop make it one of the most extraordinary open-air music venues in Koblenz. In clear weather, the view extends up the Moselle, down the Rhine, and up to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
Eulberg consistently uses his artistic work in the service of nature conservation. Through books, lectures, and sponsorships for endangered species, he actively engages in preserving local habitats. He sees the biodiversity show as a tool for raising awareness: anyone who has experienced the sounds of local flora and fauna in a danceable format will hear them with new ears afterward.
The prologue on June 18, 2026, conceptually kicks off the Electronic Wine Open Air on June 19 and 20 at the same location. On these two days, Deutsches Eck transforms into an electronic garden with DJs from the international scene, combined with the festival's wine culture: festival wines from Mosel, Mittelrhein, Ahr, and Koblenz meet Techno, House, and melodic electronic music.
On June 18, 2026, Deutsches Eck will become the stage for an unusual crossover show. Dominik Eulberg brings his established biodiversity DJ format to Koblenz, providing the prologue to the Electronic Wine Open Air. The exact start time will be announced by the organizer in advance on weinfestival-koblenz.de and ticket-regional.de.
