Wine festival of the Lahn winegrowers on the Obernhof Goetheberg with a view of the Lahn valley
The Lahn is one of the smallest and youngest wine regions in Germany – and the Obernhofer Goetheberg is one of its most beautiful locations. Here, in the steep slate terraces above the Lahn, the five Lahn winegrowers from Obernhof and neighboring Weinähr meet for the WEIN.BERG.FEST one weekend in June.
The concept is wonderfully simple and precisely why it is so appealing: small stands at strategic points in the vineyard, with paths through the vines in between, offering ever-new views of the Lahn valley. At each stand, you can taste the wines of a different winery – from Riesling from slate soil to dry Pinot Blanc to elegant Pinot Noirs, which have achieved first collector's qualities in recent years.
Between tastings, regional specialties provide the necessary foundation: Flammkuchen, cheese platters from Lahn farms, hearty snack variations. Live music plays at various stations in the mountain, sometimes acoustic and intimate, sometimes with a bit more energy.
The tasting glass, given with the entrance fee of €5, is a collector's item and the prerequisite for tastings. Those who want to try several wines should plan for the shuttle from the Lahnbrücke bus station in advance – a service that ensures a relaxed journey home.
The WEIN.BERG.FEST is part of the Lahn-Wein-Erleben initiative, with which the Lahn winegrowers have repositioned their small but fine region in recent years. The festival in Obernhof is one of the annual flagship events.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept: all five Lahn winegrowers present their selection at various points on the Goetheberg, with short paths through the vines in between. The combination of wine enjoyment and landscape experience makes the WEIN.BERG.FEST one of the most atmospheric events in the Lahn valley wine calendar.
The official tasting glass also serves as a collector's item; many regular visitors bring it home year after year.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
Program changes will be published on lahn-wein-erleben.de and the channels of the Bad Ems-Nassau Tourist Information.
