Wein am Markt Landstuhl

Wein am Markt is the stylish summer wine festival of the Sickingenstadt Landstuhl. From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the historic Alter Markt will be transformed into a wine village with selected Palatinate vintners, live music, and culinary offerings. The organizers are the Fördergemeinschaft Sickingenstadt Landstuhl and the Cuvée Weinbar Kaiserslautern.

Concept: Quality over Quantity

Wein am Markt deliberately differs from the model of the large Palatinate folk wine festivals. Instead of a broad, loud festival operation, the format focuses on selected vintners, a curated wine selection, and a quiet, wine-related atmosphere. At a few stands, Palatinate vintners will be serving their summer wines – white wines, rosés, and light red wines that suit the season.

Palatinate Wine Regions at the Market

Depending on the edition, vintners from different Palatinate sub-regions will be represented at the Alter Markt: Mittelhaardt, Südliche Weinstraße, Zellertal. The Cuvée Weinbar Kaiserslautern – co-organizer – ensures the professional curation of the selection. Palatinate classics such as Riesling, Weißer Burgunder, Grauer Burgunder, Spätburgunder, and Cuvées dominate the offering.

Flame Salmon and Grill

Culinary offerings include flame salmon from an open fire, grilled specialties, tapas, and Palatinate classics to complement the wine selection. The flame salmon – a salmon fillet cooked on wooden planks next to an open fire – has become a trademark of the festival and gives the Alter Markt its summery, atmospheric touch.

Live Music and Atmosphere

On the three evenings, small bands, jazz combos, and singer-songwriters provide stylish musical accompaniment. The Alter Markt – lined with historic houses and near the town church – offers a special backdrop into which the format fits harmoniously.

Sickingenstadt Landstuhl

Landstuhl bears the epithet "Sickingenstadt" in memory of the Imperial Knight Franz von Sickingen. Nanstein Castle, his main seat, towers over the city. Wein am Markt is one of the most atmospheric summer festivals in the Sickingenstadt and, with its quality claim, fits the city's self-image.
