A Wine Festival with River and Vineyard Views
The Wein am Main in Mainstockheim (Kitzingen district, Lower Franconia, Bavaria) is one of the most charming wine festivals in the Franconian Maindreieck region. The venue is an atrium-like festival ground directly on the Main riverbank, framed by the vineyards of the Silvaner homeland. It is organized by the Weinfestgemeinschaft Mainstockheim, an association of local vintners and clubs.
Four Days, One Program Framework
The festival concept follows a proven structure: opening evening with open-air cabaret on Thursday or Friday, followed by live music with Franconian bands, family Sunday with morning pint, church service, and choirs, and the festival finale on Monday evening. Throughout the festival week, Franconian delicacies, a wine lounge, and a coffee garden will be open.
Silvaner as the Heart of the Festival
Mainstockheim is located in the heart of the Silvaner growing region: Silvaner is the Franconian grape identity, and the wine festival regularly focuses on local vintner wines. In addition to Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, red wines, and Secco varieties are served.
Cabaret from the Fastnacht High Ground
For years, the festival has maintained a close connection to the Franconian cabaret and Fastnacht scene. Artists like Django Asül (2025) and Matthias Walz (2026) – both known from Bayerischer Rundfunk's "Fastnacht in Franken" – have performed their open-air programs here. The opening evening thus has the character of a small, high-quality open-air cabaret festival.
Mainstockheim and the Maindreieck
Mainstockheim is a Franconian wine-growing community with around 2,300 inhabitants, located directly on the Maindreieck between Kitzingen and Würzburg. The village is characterized by half-timbered houses, the Main riverbank, and vineyards – a typical setting for a wine festival that consciously positions itself not as a large event, but as a convivial, regionally rooted celebration.
