As every year, the Weihnachtsmarkt Unterwellenborn 2025 opened its doors at the Sportplatz Könitz on St. Nicholas Saturday in December. Stands selling mulled wine, bratwurst, gingerbread, and candied almonds satisfied the hunger of visitors from the Saale-Orla-Kreis. School and kindergarten choirs brought Christmas carols to the stage, and St. Nicholas visited the children in the afternoon — the market remained true to its traditional character as a cross-generational Advent meeting point for the community.
