The Meppen Christmas Market is one of the largest and longest-running Christmas markets in the southern Emsland region. With a duration of over five weeks — from November 23rd to December 30th, 2026 — it offers options for last-minute visitors and for the days between the years. This is unusual, as most Christmas markets close on December 23rd or 27th.

The Main Attractions

Ferris Wheel

The large Ferris wheel at the market square offers a spectacular view over the festively illuminated Meppen city center and the surrounding region. On clear days, the view extends far into the Emsland.

Christmas Pyramid

The impressive Christmas pyramid is one of the market's landmarks — with its rotating tiers and traditional Ore Mountains appearance, it becomes an atmospheric centerpiece.

Ice Rink
