Over Three Decades of Tradition

The Weihnachtsmarkt Dorstadt boasts a tradition spanning over thirty years. What began as a small initiative supported by dedicated villagers has evolved into a firm Advent institution for the Oderwald municipality. Residents, clubs, and guests from surrounding villages gather on this first December weekend to usher in the Advent season together.

Rittergut Dorstadt as a Backdrop

The Rittergut Dorstadt is a historic estate ensemble that lends the market its distinctive character. With its old walls, courtyard, and adjacent buildings, it forms an atmospheric backdrop that is particularly enhanced by the Christmas lighting. Together with the village community center, it creates a market area that can be easily explored on foot.

Market with Rural Charm

At the market stalls, visitors will find lovingly crafted Advent decorations, gift ideas from regional crafts, homemade jams, liqueurs, and cookies, candied almonds, and of course, mulled wine. There are also hearty dishes – from bratwurst and potato pancakes to warm soups. The Oderwaldmusikanten provide musical accompaniment with brass music and Christmas tunes. Entry into the magical atmosphere of a classic village Christmas market begins at 4 PM.
