Five weeks of sparkling lights, mulled wine, and live music in the heart of the spa town
The Bad Pyrmont Christmas Market is one of the longest in Lower Saxony. From November 24th to December 30th, 2026, it offers not only the classic Advent weekends but also the quiet period between the years, when many spa guests seek relaxation and contemplation. The event is organized by Bad Pyrmont Tourismus GmbH in cooperation with restaurateurs and craftspeople from the region.
The Brunnenplatz is located between Brunnenstraße and the Kurpark, framed by historic facades and the famous entrance to the Kurpark with its northernmost palm garden in the Alps. During Advent, the square transforms into an intimate, festively illuminated stage. The central Christmas tree has been a landmark for decades, and the fairy lights stretch through the surrounding streets, creating a cohesive light experience.
The selection of food and drinks ranges from classic Christmas market specialties—bratwurst, mulled wine, candied almonds, gingerbread, "Schmalzkuchen" (traditional fried dough)—to regional specialties such as Pyrmont ham, cheese variations from the Weserbergland, and apple punch. Hot chocolate, non-alcoholic options, and children's punch are also available. Several restaurateurs from Bad Pyrmont operate stalls and ensure quality.
The exhibitors bring a variety of crafts: wood carvings from the Erzgebirge, felt and wool work, handmade candles, glassblowing art, jewelry, ceramics, knitwear, leather goods, and natural cosmetics. Those looking for personal gifts away from mass-produced items will find a rich selection here. Several regional artists and craftspeople present their work directly at their stands.
On weekends, live bands, choirs, solo artists, and DJs provide musical accompaniment. Classic Advent songs alternate with more modern sounds. On selected dates, concerts take place concurrently in the Wandelhalle or the Konzerthaus Bad Pyrmont, culturally complementing the Christmas market experience.
The market takes a break on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It reopens from December 26th to 30th and is particularly popular with spa guests seeking relaxation between the years in Bad Pyrmont. The quieter atmosphere after Christmas has its own unique charm.
The Bad Pyrmont Christmas Market season 2026 lasts over five weeks with breaks. The musical and gastronomic program will be published by the organizer in November 2026.
The market caters equally to spa guests, locals, and day-trippers from the Weserbergland region.
The full concert and event program will be published before the season starts.
