Edition 2025 — WGT Leipzig

The 32nd edition of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen took place at Pentecost 2025, once again drawing tens of thousands of dark scene visitors to Leipzig. Over 200 bands and acts performed at the decentralized venues, from Agra Park to the Leipzig Opera, confirming WGT's reputation as the world's largest gathering of its kind.

In 2025, the WGT again offered an extremely diverse program: Industrial, EBM, Synthwave, Medieval Rock, Classical, Ambient, Black Metal – the festival's breadth shows that "Gothic" is no longer reducible to a single genre. The Victorian Picnic, the medieval markets, and the "Schwarze Witwe" tour of Südfriedhof cemetery were once again among the most visited program points in 2025.

In 2025, the close integration with Leipzig's cultural institutions was noteworthy: the Grassi Museum, the Leipzig Opera, the Peterskirche and Thomaskirche churches, and numerous smaller venues opened their doors for the festival, shaping the unique WGT cityscape.
