Overview
The 2025 edition of the Warburg Kälkenfest took place as usual on the second weekend of August in the historic Old Town. Citizens' play with hundreds of participants, siege reenactment, colourful parades, live music, and Westphalian cuisine. Thousands of visitors from the Hochstift Paderborn, northern Hesse, and the Sauerland came to the Hanseatic city for the festival. Organiser: Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Warburg e.V.
In 2025, the Kälkenfest once again drew thousands of visitors to Warburg's historic Old Town with its unique concept of citizens' play, siege scene, and folk festival. The event has long been established as a must-attend date in the East Westphalian festival calendar.
