Overview

The Waldkirchen Volksfest 2025 took place in early August in its usual format over six days at the New Festival Grounds. The mayor's beer tapping ceremony, festival tent, stone-lifting championship, and the family fireworks attracted guests from the Freyung-Grafenau district and the entire Bavarian Forest.

As in previous years, the town of Waldkirchen celebrated its Volksfest in 2025 from Friday to Wednesday at the New Festival Grounds on Holzfeldstraße. The mayor's beer tapping ceremony, a parade, the festival tent with daily changing music programs, and family activities characterized the festival week.

The stone-lifting championship on Sunday and the grand fireworks on Tuesday evening were among the most popular events. The senior citizens' afternoon on Wednesday was also well-attended. Overall, the 2025 edition confirmed the Volksfest's role as the most important summer event in the western Bavarian Forest.
