Summer City Festival in Three Stages

The Vissel Freitag is a well-established city festival format in Visselhövede. Instead of a single large festival weekend, the town offers three individual Friday evenings in June, July, and August, each from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This way, multiple summer weekends benefit from the festive atmosphere, and even those who miss one date have two more chances.

2026 Program

The 2026 edition features a diverse music program:

• Friday, June 5, 2026 — DJ Tomorrow, DJ Checka, and the Ventura Duo Gina & Tom: a mix of DJ sets and live music in a duo format.
• Friday, July 3, 2026 — Machmalauda: an catchy cover band playing classics from pop, rock, and Schlager.
• Friday, August 7, 2026 — New Comix: a regional band with a broad repertoire.

Visselhövede Market Square as a Stage

The historic market square of Visselhövede serves as the natural backdrop for the Vissel Freitag. Surrounded by shops, cafés, and residential buildings, the square creates an intimate, urban atmosphere that distinctly differs from rural festival tents. Tables and standing tables will be set up, a stage erected in the center of the square, and string lights and illumination will create the mood.

Gastronomy and Social Meeting Point

Local restaurateurs, clubs, and municipal utilities operate stalls offering beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, as well as hot meals, grilled items, fries, crêpes, and sweets. The Vissel Freitag is not just a music event but also a social gathering point: neighbors, club members, colleagues, and families meet in the square, pause for a moment, and enjoy the summer evening.

City Initiative

The town of Visselhövede initiated the Vissel Freitag to strengthen downtown life and make a low-threshold, free contribution to summer culture. Admission is free, and the offerings are deliberately designed to be family-friendly.
