Villinger Abendflair — the city center in summer sound

The Villinger Abendflair is Villingen's answer to the urban summer need for after-work atmosphere: shops stay open longer, streets are decorated with lights, flowers, and seating, local bands play, and gastronomy sets up tables in the alleys. Two dates are on the calendar for 2026 — June 25 and July 9 — each in a different street of the historic Villingen city center. Free admission. The organizer is the City of Villingen-Schwenningen.

What you'll experience

A summer evening where the city center doesn't empty at 7 PM but continues. Live music is spread across several locations — acoustic bands in courtyards, jazz and funk groups on makeshift stages, solo performers in the alleys. Culinary delights: restaurateurs bring their menus and tables into the street, supplemented by mobile food stalls — Flammkuchen, Bratwurst, salads, ice cream. Cocktails and summer drinks are a must. Shopping with extended opening hours — shops often have special offers and promotions.

Two different dates

The format is designed as a series — not one single large event, but two smaller ones, each unfolding its effect in different city quarters. June 25, 2026 in Brunnenstraße/Färberstraße — an area with small boutiques and restaurants. July 9, 2026 in Obere Straße/Bickenstraße — with different shops and a different character. Those who attend both dates will experience two different atmospheres.

Villingen — historic old town with charm

Villingen is the western, Baden part of the twin city Villingen-Schwenningen in the Schwarzwald-Baar district. The historic old town is one of the most beautiful examples of Upper Swabian city architecture — cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, fountains, the Münster Unsere Liebe Frau (Minster of Our Lady), city gates, and towers. In this setting, the Abendflair unfolds its special effect: not a pedestrian zone, but a historic city quarter becomes a summer stage.

Family- and shopping-friendly

The format is deliberately accessible and suitable for all age groups. Families with children can stroll relaxed through the alleys, children find ice cream and play opportunities, parents enjoy cocktails and music.
