45th Wine Festival of the VG Wörrstadt in Schornsheim

The wine festival of the Wörrstadt administrative district rotates annually among the municipalities of the district and is one of the events that make the Vereins- und Weinleben (club and wine life) of Rheinhessen particularly visible. With the 45th edition in 2026 in Schornsheim, the format reaches another milestone.

Rotating Hosting as a Strength

The idea that a different municipality hosts each year has several advantages: it distributes the organisational burden, creates identification for each municipality with the district, allows visitors to discover different wine villages, and ensures that each edition of the district wine festival has its own character.

Schornsheim is a charming Rheinhessen municipality in the part of the VG Wörrstadt near Wonnegau. With its historic village centre, the surrounding vineyards, and the typical Rheinhessen architecture, the village offers a perfect setting for a wine festival.

Programme Structure

The programme for the VG wine festivals follows a proven structure: opening on Friday with the crowning of a new Wine Queen or King, wine tasting and band programme on Saturday, church service and festive parade on Sunday. Vintners from the entire VG Wörrstadt participate and present their wines.
