Overview

The VG Dult of the Kirchweidach administrative district was celebrated in 2025 in one of the member municipalities (Halsbach, Feichten, Kastl, Kirchweidach, or Tyrlaching) in the classic six-day Volksfest format. Festival tent operation, catering, live music, and amusement rides characterized the Dult. The alternating format — with a rotating host municipality each year among the five VG communities — once again proved to be a successful model for joint cultural preservation in the Inn-Salzach region.

The VG Dult remains a typical representative of East Bavarian Volksfest culture: down-to-earth, supported by local clubs, and tailored to the realities of rural life in the region. The five municipalities — all with fewer than 2,500 inhabitants — create a Volksfest through the joint format that none of them could sustain individually.

In the Inn-Salzach region between Altötting and Mühldorf, with its mix of pilgrimage, agriculture, and chemical industry, the VG Dult holds a firm place in the summer calendar.
