80 Years VfL Wolfsburg

VfL Wolfsburg was founded on September 12, 1945 — initially as VSK Wolfsburg, later renamed VfL Wolfsburg. The Volkswagen works club developed into one of the most successful German professional clubs. The men's team became German champions in 2009; the women's team has collected Bundesliga titles and Champions League successes. The 80th anniversary in 2025/26 will be celebrated with an extensive programme.

Volkswagen Arena as a Party Hall

The Volkswagen Arena — VfL's home stadium — will be transformed into a festive event location for the Green-White Night. Parts of the stands will be opened, event areas will be used, and stages will be set up. The striking architecture of the stadium creates a special atmosphere.

Programme Highlights

Classic elements of such a club party include: Live music with bands or DJs, show acts, speeches by the board, interviews with current players and club legends, photo opportunities, member honours, slideshows with historical images, culinary catering, and a dance floor. The exact programme will be published by the club in due course.

Anniversary Home Match the Next Day

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, the men's team's anniversary home match against 1. FC Köln will take place in the Volkswagen Arena. A large supporting programme around the stadium will complement match day.

Celebration Week Character

The Green-White Night is just one component of the celebration weeks. Further activities will take place throughout the season — from fan festivals in August to special exhibitions and member events, as well as special jerseys and commemorative publications.
