Overview

On September 13 and 14, 2025, the annual Veddelfest took place on Veddel. Music, a fashion show, flea market, street food, and stalls from local institutions, schools, and church communities characterized an intercultural neighborhood festival in one of Hamburg's most diverse districts.

The 2025 edition continued the recent Veddelfest tradition: it brought together residents from over 90 nations, cultural creators, initiatives, and visitors from Hamburg. The fashion show offered a stage for designers from the neighborhood, the flea market was organized by residents, and the street food offerings ranged from West African and Turkish to Eastern European and Vietnamese cuisine.

The festival was organized by Veddelfest e.V. together with NEW HAMBURG (art and education initiative) and an alliance of local schools, the church community, mosques, the major company Aurubis, and several neighborhood initiatives. As in previous years, the meeting point was the area Am Zollhafen / Katenweide and Café Nova at Wilhelmsburger Straße 73.
