Overview

In 2025, the Usedomer Drachenfestival once again attracted thousands of families to Karlshagen beach. Giant kites, artistic models, and the competition for the "Draki" formed the core of the program.

The 13th edition of the Usedomer Drachenfestival once again confirmed the event's firm place in the autumn calendar of the Baltic Sea resort. With mild October temperatures and ideal kite-flying weather, the sky over Karlshagen beach was colored with hundreds of kites — from mini models for children to giant kites several meters long.

The kite sand sculpture competition and the "Draki" award ceremony remained the emotional highlights of the weekend. Families from the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, Berlin, and Brandenburg used the event as a joint autumn outing. The municipality of Karlshagen announced the 14th edition for 2026 with the announced world's largest inflatable kite.
