City Marketing Anchor for Advent

The Uelzen Christmas Magic is more than a Christmas market – it is a comprehensively designed Advent experience world. KTS Uelzen (the municipal tourism and service company) organizes the event and positions it as the most important city marketing anchor for the Advent season. The goal is to revitalize the city center, promote local retail, and create a tourist attraction.

Classic Christmas Market

The core is the classic Christmas market with stalls offering mulled wine, roasted almonds, gingerbread, bratwurst, handicrafts, Advent decorations, and gift ideas. The stalls are spread across the city center and Kirchplatz.

Ice Rink "mycity on ice"

The ice rink 'mycity on ice' is a special feature. An artificial ice rink is set up in a central city square where visitors can ice skate. Ice and skate rental are available. The rink is attractive for families as well as young and adult visitors, making the Christmas market an active experience.

Nativity Scene and Glittering Lights

A nativity scene – often life-sized with figures – is set up in a central location in the city center, conveying the Christian core of Advent. Festive lighting across streets and squares creates the Christmas atmosphere. The illumination is among the most visually impressive elements of the Christmas Magic.

Magic Mondays with City Voucher Raffle

An innovation are the 'Magic Mondays'. On several Mondays during Advent, city vouchers are raffled in a show atmosphere – often with magic or show elements that give the raffle an experiential character. This gives the Christmas Magic recurring highlights over the four weeks.

Four Advent Weeks – Until December 23rd

With opening hours from November 27th to December 23rd, the Christmas Magic spans the entire Advent period and closes just before Christmas Eve. This makes it accessible for early Advent outings as well as last-minute gift shopping.

Connection to the Heideregion and Hanseatic Atmosphere

Uelzen is located on the edge of the Lüneburg Heath and combines Hanseatic tradition with Heath tourism. The Christmas Magic is one of the important winter events in the Heideregion-Uelzen.
